Your Easy Access Savings Account comes with a cash card that lets you pay in money at Post Office® branches and gives you instant access to up to £300 cash per day. You can check your balance and make withdrawals at cash machines in the UK displaying the LINK® logo, or over the counter at any Post Office® branch. Your personal identification number (PIN) helps to ensure that only you can withdraw money from your account.
Please note that this is not a debit or credit card - you can only use it to pay money into your Easy Access Savings Account or to withdraw money from it, not to shop or pay bills. We won't charge you for any cash machine transactions, but some cash machine providers might charge a small amount. If that is the case, a message on the screen will let you know how much the charge is before you go ahead with the transaction.
Your PIN is a four-digit number that only you should know. It identifies you as the account holder, and you will be asked to key it in whenever you use your card to withdraw money or check your balance at a cash machine or at a Post Office® branch.
Never tell anyone else your PIN.
For security, we will send your card and PIN separately. You can change your PIN to a number that you find easier to remember at any Cardpoint/CashZone cash machine.
It’s important that you keep your card safe and your PIN secret at all times. Try to memorise it without writing it down and don’t tell anyone what it is – even if they claim to be from NS&I or the police.
We will never ask you what your PIN is. If you are suspicious of someone calling you about this, take their details and contact us.
If you find your PIN difficult to remember, change it to something more memorable.
Don’t use numbers that are associated with you, like your birthday or phone number or an obvious number sequences like 1234 or 9999.
Choose a random combination of numbers – this is harder for someone to guess.
If you key in a wrong PIN three times in a row, your card will be blocked. If this happens or you forget your PIN, you will need to ask for a new one. If you have registered for our telephone service you can call us free on 0500 007 007 and request a new PIN. Your call will be taken by one of NS&I’s award-winning UK customer service team. We’re available every day from 7am till midnight. Calls from mobiles may not be free. Calls may be recorded.

We won't charge you for any cash machine transactions, but the cash machine provider might. If there is a charge, a message on the screen will tell you the exact amount. You can then choose to cancel the transaction, without charge, or to continue. Any cash machine charges will count towards the £300 daily cash withdrawal limit.
