The winners from Kent and Shropshire have chosen to remain anonymous.

In Kent nearly 800,000 people own Premium Bonds worth over £1.2 billion.  There are over 11,000 unclaimed Premium Bond prizes worth £668,000.  This is the eighth time the Premium Bonds jackpot has been won in Kent.  In Shropshire nearly 165,000 people own Premium Bonds worth over £252 million.  There are over 1,800 unclaimed prizes in Shropshire, worth over £105,000. It is the first time that the jackpot has been won in the county.

In September’s draw ERNIE paid out over 1.7 million prizes worth more than £119 million.

Premium Bond Facts

The Premium Bonds prize fund rate is 4.00% tax-free.  The odds of winning any prize are 21,000 to 1, with average luck, an investor with £30,000 in Premium Bonds can expect to win 17 tax-free2 prizes a year.

23 million people have more than £36 billion invested in Premium Bonds.

Like all NS&I products, Premium Bonds offer investors 100% capital security, backed by HM Treasury, as well as the sense of fun that comes from winning tax-free2 prizes.

Since the first Premium Bonds prize draw in 1957, over 159.03 million tax-free2 prizes worth £10.2 billion have been paid out.  Prizes range from £50 to £1 million.

There is currently almost £29 million in unclaimed prizes.  There is no time limit on claiming prizes.  Premium Bonds investors can check to see if they have won by logging on to www.nsandi.com and using the Premium Bonds prize checker.
