What is an NS&I password?

The NS&I password is a combination of letters and/or numbers, chosen by you, which identifies you as the account holder. You can use it over the phone to manage an NS&I Cash ISA, Easy Access Savings Account, or our Direct ISA. Your password can also give secure online access to an NS&I Direct ISA.

If you are an existing NS&I Cash ISA or Easy Access Savings Account customer, and have registered to use our telephone service, or you are an NS&I Direct ISA customer, you will already have a password.

You can use your password to:

  • check your balance
  • check recent transactions
  • withdraw money into your nominated bank or building society account
  • tell us if your address or personal details have changed (phone only)
You should keep your password secret to help ensure no-one else can access your account.

A good password:

  • does not contain any personal information such as family names or birthdays
  • is changed regularly
