NS&I QUARTERLY SAVINGS SURVEY: ISSUE 15

NS&I (National Savings and Investments) will be publishing its fifteenth Quarterly Savings Survey on 20 June. The spring 2008 survey provides an incisive and continuous view of the UK savings market, tracking the development of savings trends over both the last quarter and the last year. The survey also covers the predicted savings outlook for the coming months.

The spring 2008 Quarterly Savings Survey will reveal:

  • The ideal monthly amount that the population wants to save has risen to its highest ever level, but these aspirations are not being reflected in the amounts that people are actually managing to put away
  • The average amount saved per head across the population has fallen
  • The amount of people that are regularly saving money each month has also fallen

            Lifestyle research:

            • Britons fail to budget and the majority overspend while away on holiday
